Flax – Scarlet

Scarlet Flax is a flower that is native to the regions between North Africa and Southern Europe.  This flower is closely related to the variety of flax used to produce linen.  Scarlet Flax does not do well when transplanted, so it is best to plant it outside in the ground.  This flower favors loose, light soil in a place that has full exposure to the sun.  Scarlet Flax is very drought tolerant and can withstand high temperatures.  Sow these seeds in either spring or fall when planting within the United States.

The broadcast rate for seeding is 30 – 37.5 pounds per acre.

The seed drill rate for seeding in rows is 15 pounds per acre.
