Wildflower, Grass and Native Seeds
The West Cascade Wildflower Mix is an all-flower mix of annuals and perennials that are native to the Northwest region of the United States. Note that most perennials will not bloom in the first year that they are planted from seed. Typically, perennials will establish a plant during the first year and then will bloom in the second and subsequent years. You may not see all of these flower species bloom during the first year that they are planted.
*THIS IS A FALL PLANTING MIX. These native seeds in the wild are naturally falling on the ground in the summer and then getting watered in with the first rains near the end or after summer. Here in the Northwest, if you live west of the cascade mountains planting in September is the most ideal. This mix can be planted early spring here in March too, no later than mid-April and possibly do ok. But it is best if fall planted.

Planting Tip: It’s easy to accidentally plant all the seed in one spot and run out because the seeds are so small. You may want to mix the seed with something to help thin it out and spread it with such as mixing potting soil in a wheelbarrow with it or purchasing sand or vermiculite at a garden store to mix with it. Seeding a little heavier in a smaller area is okay as it may help crowd weeds out more.
The broadcast rate for seeding is 18 – 22.5 pounds per acre.
The seed drill rate for seeding in rows is 9 pounds per acre.
